This is Mikey, my spirit animal. He is every reason why I choose to do what I do.

He lived to 14 years old and is still affectionately known as “BDE” – Best Dog Ever. He helped us raise two amazing kids, he loved them unconditionally, protected them and kept them safe, was always patient and kind, a gentle giant, the most lovable rogue, companion, friend and partner in crime. Just like me, a good day for Mikey involved the sea and wet and salty was always preferable.

All of us at Witterings Vets have been blessed by the animals in our lives and this keeps us mindful of what your pets mean to you.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Meet Gertie – my spirit animal, and the dog who changed everything. She was my very first dog as an adult, and the one who made me a mum for the first time (fur-mum, of course!). Gertie taught me how to truly love and open my heart and she’s the reason I became a Veterinary Nurse.

She was sweet, nurturing and had a way of winning over everyone she met – truly one in a million. Gertie had the biggest heart, loved meeting new people, and was as loyal and kind as they come. Her happiest moments were the simple ones: being with her favourite people, enjoying the great outdoors, and going on family camping adventures – just like me. Gertie sparked my deep love for animals, and to this day, I care for every animal as if they were my own. Her legacy lives on in the way I work, the way I love, and the way I live.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

This is Maisha, my spirit animal. Maisha loves running around, throwing herself at any obstacle or challenge that she finds. If you tell Maisha something is too difficult, she will find any means she can to prove you wrong. Maisha loves exploring new places, particularly where there’s sea, sand and the wind blowing in her hair. Maisha is very loyal; her family and the people around her are her world. She will do whatever she can to make them smile or to comfort them when they need it the most. At the end of a busy day, Maisha is happiest settling down on the sofa with her people… and maybe a tasty treat or two! Maisha is getting older now and needs a bit more care to keep her healthy. She can get anxious and confused, and she has a few complicated health conditions.

Maisha inspires my love of looking after our geriatric patients and making sure they are treated like royalty… just like she is!

Veterinary Receptionist

Meet my handsome boy, this golden beauty is Kodi. He came tumbling into my heart and lap in 2009, a whirlwind of boundless energy, full of love and affection and absolutely my "son dog" There hasn't been a second since his arrival that I have not had him next to me, on the sofa, on the bed, my furry shadow and on the rare occasions we are apart, always in my thoughts, I feel blessed and very lucky to have had such a gentle natured, happy to see everyone, gentle soul in my life.

It was fate at the beginning of Kodi's life that meant I took an opportunity to start my career as a Veterinary Receptionist, through him I found my true purpose in life, and it has been fate again that at the end of his wonderful life I continue my journey here at Witterings Vets doing what I love best Because of him, I cannot imagine doing anything else. With Kodi's love and affection in my heart I look forward to supporting our clients' needs and meeting their beloved family pet members.
